Finally!

Hello, party people! Spring has sprung and we here at Charmed Quilts are loving it. Freddie thinks Leona may love it a little too much, as you can see below.

Freddie is not sure this is a good idea.

Is Freddie a worry-wart? Is Leona a dare devil? Dust bunnies seem very sure-footed, so I think Freddie is just angsty. Leona didn’t so much as bobble, even though she was whistling and skipping. The fresh air definitely agreed with them both, and even Freddie began to enjoy himself when Leona agreed to get a little closer to the ground.

Our news this month is that, at long last, the shop is finally up! It’s not super well stocked yet, but there are currently three very nice kits available which will make a few someones great quilts. As for me? In my copious spare time, I’m working on a super scrappy simple Irish chain for a new baby in the family and it’s coming together so nicely! I’m almost done with the piecing and I can’t wait to start the quilting, since that’s my favorite part. I think I’m going to do big-stitch style with a variegated thread, since the sashing is white, and I’ve got some nice stencils I borrowed from one of my quilting groups to do designs in the blank blocks. I’ll be sure to post a picture once it’s done so you can see it.

I’m working on finishing up the apple core instructions so we can get some charm quilts in the mix as soon as possible. They’re so fun, and the big pieces come together rapidly (so long as you use plenty of pins, of course!)
